Position Overview
The Incentives Pursuit Coordinator is a fulltime, remote role supporting the preaward pursuit of infrastructurescale funding opportunities. This position plays a key role in identifying, developing, writing, and submitting competitive applications for grants, rebates, voucher programs, and other incentive mechanisms at the federal, state, local, and utility levels.
The Incentives Pursuit Coordinator will collaborate closely with development teams, accounting/finance, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure applications are strategically aligned with eligibility requirements, project scope, procurement timelines, design and permitting milestones, and construction schedules. This role requires the ability to lead grant pursuits independently while keeping leadership well informed without requiring close oversight.
This is a highly detailoriented role requiring demonstrated experience in preaward grant writing and submission for construction and capital project environments (not foundation or nonprofit funding). The ideal candidate operates independently and collaboratively across the full preaward lifecycle—from opportunity identification through submission and award notification—and is comfortable owning all preaward activities before handoff to postaward teams.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Pursuit
- Identify, research, track, and evaluate relevant funding opportunities (federal, state, local, and utility), including grants, rebates, vouchers, and tax incentives.
- Lead incentive and grant applications endtoend, with personal responsibility for writing narratives, developing budgets and justifications, coordinating attachments, and completing final submissions.
- Support funding pursuits for largescale EV infrastructure and development projects, including hubs, depots, workplace charging, ondemand charging, equipment, capital improvements, energy, and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal development, engineering, and finance teams to align applications with project scope, procurement strategy, design, permitting, and construction schedules.
- Interpret eligibility and scoring criteria strategically to maximize competitiveness—not just compliance.
- Identify gaps in application materials early and proactively coordinate solutions across stakeholders.
PreAward Compliance & Documentation
- Develop internal compliance and eligibility documentation during the pursuit phase to support successful application submission.
- Ensure all applications meet funder requirements and eligibility rules for construction and infrastructurefocused incentives.
- Support preaward contracting activities, including review of funding terms, conditions, and obligations prior to award acceptance.
- Maintain organized, auditready records for all preaward pursuits to support smooth transition to postaward teams.
CrossFunctional Coordination
- Independently coordinate inputs from engineering, construction, operations, procurement, design, accounting, sustainability, leadership, and external partners to ensure application accuracy and competitiveness.
- Align application budgets with internal cost tracking and funder expectations through crossdepartmental collaboration.
- Prepare concise, leadershipready updates that allow senior stakeholders to remain lowtouch but well informed throughout the pursuit process.
- Support external funder discussions as needed during application and contracting stages.
Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain centralized trackers for application deadlines, submissions, and outcomes.
- Provide regular internal updates on pursuit pipeline, application status, and upcoming funding opportunities.
- Track preaward risks, milestones, and approvals to ensure applications remain competitive and compliant.
Required Qualifications
- 510 years of experience preparing and leading incentive or grant applications for infrastructure, construction, capital projects, EV charging, or sustainability upgrades.
- Demonstrated success personally writing and submitting competitive applications for federal, state, local, or utilitybased programs (experience limited to nonprofit or foundation grants will not meet requirements).
- Strong understanding of procurement, permitting, design, and construction schedules as they relate to funded projects.
- Experience with compliance frameworks for incentivefunded projects, with emphasis on preaward eligibility and documentation.
- Familiarity with reimbursementbased funding programs (grants, rebates, vouchers, credits).
- Experience with competitive solicitations and/or utility rebate programs.
- Strong written communication, analytical, and budgeting skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage documentation across multiple systems and formats.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, meet deadlines, communicate risks, and manage complex stakeholder environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EV charging deployments, commercial building energy upgrades, pilot projects, and reimbursementbased programs.
- Background in state or local government, utilities, or infrastructure/energy consulting environments.
- Prior clientfacing consulting experience or experience leading grant pursuits with multiple external stakeholders.
Benefits
- Employerpaid health plan
- PTO, paid sick leave, and full benefits package
