AMSOIL INC. is seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists at our AMSOIL Center location in Superior, WI! We are looking for dedicated EHS Specialists who take pride in fostering a behavior-based safety culture by promoting employee accountability and making a direct impact through environmental compliance and ISO 14001 standards - driving continuous improvement.Why this role matters:
This role is essential to creating and sustaining a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment across AMSOIL operations. By partnering with leaders and employees, the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist helps protect people, strengthen safety culture, and ensure the organization meets critical regulatory and environmental standards. From driving prevention efforts and incident response to supporting continuous improvement and environmental stewardship, this role directly impacts employee well-being, operational effectiveness, and long-term business success.
Scheduled hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
What you will own:
Safety Programs & Culture
• Own and strengthen core safety programs, including OSHA-required initiatives.
• Partner with leaders and employees to build a proactive, behavior-based safety culture.
• Identify hazards, lead risk reduction efforts, and drive timely resolution of safety concerns.
• Support incident response, investigations, and corrective actions that improve workplace safety.
Audits, Inspections & Compliance
• Lead inspections and audits across facilities, equipment, and operations to reduce risk.
• Maintain OSHA reporting, recordkeeping, and broader regulatory compliance.
• Analyze incidents and trends to recommend practical, data-informed improvements.
• Support internal audit activity tied to ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and business objectives.
Training & Communication
• Deliver safety and environmental training to employees of all levels, that drives awareness, compliance, and engagement.
• Create clear communications and resources that make safety expectations easy to understand.
• Coach and support site champions with practical guidance and subject matter expertise.
Environmental Compliance & Reporting
• Help keep the Environmental Management System aligned with ISO 14001 requirements.
• Support environmental reporting, inspections, drills, and audits across applicable regulations.
• Track environmental and safety data, including EMS metrics, greenhouse gas inventory, and ESG reporting support.
• Maintain accurate corrective action records and related work orders.
Continuous Improvement
• Partner and drive cross-functionally to improve EHS processes, systems, and site performance.
• Use reporting and analysis to measure program effectiveness and uncover opportunities to improve.
• Help maintain documentation that strengthens compliance, consistency, and operational results.
What you bring:
• A bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• A solid working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, PPE, EPA requirements, and accident/injury investigation practices.
• A minimum 2-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial setting.
• Experience conducting workplace safety inspections and investigations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Experience developing, implementing, and improving safety programs, procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data and prepare reports.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and workplace hazard recognition.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence others, drive change, and promote a strong safety culture.

• Program ownership, incident investigation, auditing, and cross-functional leadership is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHMM, or CIH are a plus.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience that prepares you to succeed in this role is also welcomed.

Pay Type: Salary: Starting salary dependent on experience level and direct experience in the field.
