Description
The Senior Analyst - Fleet Strategy & Aircraft Configurations is a key member of the Network Fleet Strategy team. The team is responsible for determining and recommending the best aircraft and configurations for United's long-term fleet, maximizing financial, customer, and crew benefits. The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing optimal seating configurations for United's future aircraft, and for coordinating with many stakeholders to bring these seating configurations to reality. A primary focus is on premium & economy cabin sizes, location of galleys and lavs, and other special features that have a direct impact on United's profitability and the in-flight experience of our customers and crews. In addition, the Sr. Analyst helps evaluate innovative new seating products and interior features that will benefit our customers for years to come.
Job overview and responsibilities
• Coordinate seating layout (LOPA) projects, and related action items, with a broad range of United stakeholders including: Network Planning, Engineering, Onboard Products, Galley Packing, Inflight Experience & Safety, Tech Ops Planning, Revenue Management/Ancillary, and Finance teams
• Design and develop new seating layouts (LOPAs) for both domestic and international aircraft. Use United's core4 standards to create aircraft configurations that match United's needs. Place particular focus on cabin sizes, efficiency of seat placement, the benefits of potential new seat types/technologies, alternate use of floor space, location of lavs/galleys/closets, and customer amenities
• Prepare and present slides for leadership, summarizing key findings and the business case for specific projects
• Model the revenue potential, costs, and NPV/payback of various layouts, as well as other aircraft-related projects
• Work directly with aircraft manufacturers to develop new layouts, while balancing engineering constraints and opportunities.
NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time spent onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Transportation/Logistics, or related area of study
• 3+ years of related full-time work experience
• Quantitative analytical experience in business, engineering, operations, or similar field
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, Excel experience
• Strong verbal written and communication skills
• Exceptional relationship building skills
• Ability to take complex problems and build logical solution frameworks
• Ability to take initiative and drive action
• Ability to organize and keep track of many facts
• Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast paced changing environment
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship

The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $103,966.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
