POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon Petroleum Company is looking for a Flight Technician / Aircraft Maintenance Technician to travel on company aircraft as needed, and to perform scheduled, unscheduled and line maintenance on company aircraft, and keep Marathon aircraft operating at the highest aviation standards.
Candidate must be willing to travel and have the ability to work a varied schedule based on aircraft availability. This may include early mornings, nights, and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates at a high level while assigned to fly as third crewmember on Company aircraft; full responsibility for technical integrity of the aircraft with significantly less or no direction from flight crew members.
- Responsible for the release of the aircraft as mechanically airworthy to the Pilot in Command as required by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- Oversees the refueling of the aircraft, ordering the catering for the flight, and ensuring the aircraft has sufficient supplies and spare parts as predicated by the mission requirements.
- Assists the flight crew with in-flight checklist procedures and troubleshooting systems to ensure safety of flight.
- Performs and coordinates proper repair, servicing, and troubleshooting as needed. Keep pilots informed of advancement in aircraft grounding situations.
- Assists flight crew with complex logistical situations when aircraft technical problems arise.
- Provides in-flight cabin service and functions as safety coordinator to all passengers and crew.
- When not assigned to flight duties, performs cross-functional the duties of an Aircraft Maintenance Technician as outlined:
- Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs to airframe systems, turbine engines, and appliances.
- Complies with airworthiness directives, manufacturers service bulletins, and other technical requirements.
- Reads and interprets manufacturer’s maintenance publications, schematics, technical data, and other specifications pertaining to work being performed.
- Performs ground handling of aircraft including towing, refueling, and jacking.
- Performs all aspects of aircraft dispatching and recovery.
- Complete entries in aircraft logs certifying repair, parts, and equipment installation.
- Maintain company tools and test equipment.
- Confer with Company pilots on operating conditions of aircraft and coordinate repair time with operational schedules.
- Attend airframe, engine, avionics, and cabin attendant training as assigned.
- Assume other potential Aviation assignments such as (but not limited to); overseeing hangar facilities maintenance, fuel farm maintenance, conducting maintenance audits, and participating in industry forums; as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- May be assigned as a Lead Technician for an aircraft with responsibility for scheduling, performing, and managing the maintenance program for assigned aircraft.
- Participate proactively in the safety management system by:
- Actively identifying, reporting, and mitigating hazards and safety-risk management deficiencies.
- Providing timely input to management to ensure that the company’s safety-risk profile is accurate and up to date; and
- When appropriate, applying hazard checklists to make sound pre-flight and in-flight decisions.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
Avionics experience troubleshooting, repair, and installation
5+ years experience turbine powered aircraft maintenance or practical, hands-on experience with Gulfstream, Challenger, or equivalent category business jets.
Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a valid US passport
Able to accommodate up to 30% travel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Gulfstream G450, Bombardier Challenger 300/350/3500 experience
NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification
Aero IT certification
Inspectors Authorization
Corporate Cabin Attendant Emergency Evacuation Training
